Many scrum masters don't get any form of training before assuming the role or accountability within a scrum team. Some might attend a two-day course like the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) course, but that's where it tends to end.
John McFadyen believes that there is an opportunity to create an apprenticeship program for scrum masters that includes the official certifications from Scrum Alliance as an optional extra, should someone want to certify their knowledge, skills and capabilities.
In this video, John talks about why this matters to him.
