Observed annually on 9 August, National Day marks the country’s independence from Malaysia in 1965 and is commemorated with lively fanfare, celebrations and an impressive parade.
The 2024 National Day Parade will take place at The Padang and is set to be bigger, grander and louder than its past year’s counterparts.
This year’s National Day holds extra significance as the nation celebrates Singapore’s 59th National Day and the 40th year of Total Defence.
In light of the 40th anniversary of Total Defence, there will be a Total Defence 40 (TD40) Dynamic Defence Display, where air and land units from the Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force unite for a spectacular showcase.
