Drinking Mercury - 2020: Well, We Tried
Drinking Mercury released a lovingly crafted self-titled album on November 22, 2019. We played a great show to release it at The Robin Theatre in Lansing the following night and then got to work to fill up our 2020 calendar with a vinyl release of the album and a busy show calendar. Just like everyone else, 2020 went a different way than we expected - in our case we had booked 6 months worth of shows at breweries around Michigan, music festivals in Michigan and Indiana, a weekend of shows in Chicagoland, and we were working on the logistics of getting out to the east coast before the year's end. We played two local breweries and then everything got cancelled just as we were about to really kick things into gear. We did our best to salvage the year, spending much of the spring and summer making quarantine videos, with the vinyl finally showing up in August. We'll always be very proud of this album and we appreciate all who have listened to it.
