The replacement of network devices is simple and possible without specialist knowledge: The C-PLUG, KEY-PLUG and SCALANCE CLP removable data storage media are used to back up the configuration data of your SCALANCE devices or SIMATIC communications processors (CPs). Just remove the PLUG from the defective device, install the replacement device, reinsert the PLUG – and the new device is ready for use, with the same configuration as the previous one. KEY-PLUGS contain all functions of the C-PLUG and, furthermore, enable specific industrial extra functions such as the so-called iFeatures in SCALANCE devices.
