Understanding how a sine function can be modified to increase/decrease the peak size and the number of peaks in a given range of time is important. These are described by oscillation properties: amplitude, period, and frequency.
We define these properties in this video and learn how to control them. In addition, there are methods to change the function in order to move the graph in the vertical and horizontal direction. We will learn these methods as well. This will give us the ability to look at a variety of sine and cosine functions and have some understanding of what the graph will look like relative to the baseline sin(t) and cos(t) functions.
