Most ICS protocols lack any security features, and an increasingly common approach is to wrap ICS protocols in TLS. Adam Crain of Automatak and Rich Corrigan of SDGE present a new secure ICS protocol named SSP-21.

This is a very technical presentation covering the crypto, protocol and reference implementation details. They have considered the requirements for ICS and IoT, removed unnecessary 'cruft' that adds complexity and often leads to vulnerabilities, and took into account the limited bandwidth and processing power available in many ICS Level 1 devices.

It's a great example of technical depth in a S4 Stage 2: Technical Deep Dive session.
