LOW GAIN side of the Big Muff

Showing my method of dialing in a Big Muff to use more like a grunty, fuzzy overdrive (Lump Hammer tm?) at the lowest gain settings (or near the very bottom). For this to work, they do need to be tuned a certain way (decent amount of low mids helps a lot). I always set my Rat like this too (which rules) but isn’t fuzzy enough in the pleasant way a good Muff does (mind you, I’ve hated playing Big Muffs for decades - graduated high school in 93🧐).

Anyway: set the volume and tone to max and gain to zero Hit it and see how it sounds. Adjust accordingly -
The volume adds (when dimed) or subtracts (when at unity or lower) low end.

The Gain/Sus adds upper mids and sizzle (this can get out of control quickly IMHO)

The tone is how you tune your mids

Hope that makes sense🤷🏻‍♂️
