// Creating a Simple Boxplot in R //
Generally speaking, a boxplot (also called a box diagram) summarizes various measures of central tendency and dispersion in a single diagram and presents them graphically.
The box represents the interquartile range (a measure of dispersion) and depicts the range spanned by the third and first quartiles. The median is located in the center of the box. The antennas typically represent the minimum and maximum values of a distribution.
Boxplots thus provide a very concise graphical representation of a distribution and its most important parameters.
