after a few months in korea, i upgraded my data plan from 3 GB of data a month to 100 GB DAILY (i don't remember the price sorry!) my school did not give wifi to teachers and i ended up using a lot of my data or hotspot to my laptop, which would use the 3GB in less than 3-4 days.

something else that i forgot to mention is porting your phone number onto google voice! if you plan on canceling your cell phone plan in your home country, you can port your number onto google voice. when you return to your country, you can still have your old phone number. you can also still receive/send text messages on your old phone number and see any missed calls. this is great because if you are kicked out of an account, or need to verify something that is connected to your old phone number, you can receive verification text messages. it’s only $20 (one time)! YOU HAVE TO DO THIS BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME COUNTRY.
