The Great Wall of China | Gubeikou - Jinshanling
While in China I dedicated three days to making sure I got to see the un-restored and restored parts of the wall. I also really wanted to see the quiet parts of the wall, it shocked me that the wall is approx 21,000km long but always super crowded. This place was amazing. This was an amazing adventure into Chinese history.
I traveled out from Beijing via train bus and taxi to get to Gubeikou, but it was super worth it. The break from the crazy cities was a nice change and it gave me the chance to see a rural Chinese town. The town has no more than 300 residents and was beautiful insight into daily rural life. The food and hospitality in this town was amazing.
