[No 2 Father Sky] How Character Outfit Was Designed & Made
(Sound on 🔊) When we first imagined this character [No 2. Father Sky] in future Mongolia as the last bastion for resources in the age of AI & climate change, we wanted her to wear a spacesuit of the future.
We were inspired by #MIT Professor, #DavaNewman’s, #BioSuit (TM), which was based on 1964 #spacesuit design for the US Airforce by Rand Corporation. The goal was to create natural mobility and no ballooning in full-pressure spacesuits by identifying areas on the human body that don’t stretch during movement.
So I drew all of these “non-extension lines” on the design. This took forever!! 😅
I added blue lines for the Mongolian deel’s side-chest cut & buttons. As well as blue glove & feet that we imagined to be electrically connected throughout the body.
A jacket with a futuristic cut and Mongolian buttons was added to make her look more badass. I had imagined this jacket to be bright blue to match the blue lines. My art is in the back which I will talk more about in a separate video 😊
