Luka Doncic Mix - "21" (Ft. Polo G)
Luka Doncic is what we call a prodigy. He has always been very good at basketball, playing professionally since age 16 for Real Madrid. 3 years later, Doncic won the Euroleague MVP and began sending shockwaves around the basketball world. Luka was selected 3rd overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks but was then traded to the Dallas Mavericks on Draft night. Having professional experience already under his belt assisted Luka in his transition of the NBA as he put on a myriad of remarkable performances. As a rookie, Luka recorded 8 triple doubles and the 5th rookie to have averages of 20+points, 5+rebounds, and 5+assists. He went on to win Rookie of the year. What makes Luka so special is his great poise for his age. He does not fold under pressure, scoring in a variety of ways from driving through contact to the rim to shooting step back three pointers with superb accuracy. Standing at 6’7, Luka is multi-dimensional in that he can play point guard, having tight ball handle, yet tall enough to play the forward position. He possesses great court vision, being ultra-aware of his surrounds to find his teammates for open shots/dunks. Last season, Luka led the Mavericks to the playoffs for the first time in 3 years after averaging 28 points a game. In the first round of the Western Conference Finals, Dallas had a tough task going up against a gritty Los Angeles Clippers squad led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Even though Luka dropped 42 points, the most in a playoff debut in NBA history, the Mavericks lost game 1 and eventually the series in 6 games. Despite the loss, Luka was nothing short of spectacular, in game 4 he hit a crazy step back three-point buzzer-beater for the win. Even so, it was not enough to win the series as Luka used his playoff disappoints as fuel going into this season. Through 25 games, the Mavericks are in the playoff mix posting an 11-14 record. Luka stats are still mind boggling, as he is currently averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists a game. It will be fascinating to see what Luka is able to accomplish this season as he looks to lead the Mavericks to the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
