In this video, we dive into the design and implementation of positive and negative edge-triggered D flip-flops using 2:1 multiplexers. D flip-flops are essential components in digital circuits, widely used for data storage and synchronization.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

Positive Edge-Triggered D Flip-Flop: We’ll begin with the design and working principle of a positive edge-triggered D flip-flop. Using a 2:1 multiplexer, we’ll walk through the setup to ensure the flip-flop captures input data on the rising edge of the clock.

Negative Edge-Triggered D Flip-Flop: Next, we’ll implement a negative edge-triggered D flip-flop. By adjusting the 2:1 multiplexer configuration, you’ll see how the flip-flop operates, capturing data on the falling edge of the clock.

With detailed explanations and step-by-step code, this video will help you understand the core concepts behind edge-triggered D flip-flops and their implementation using multiplexers. Perfect for beginners and those looking to strengthen their digital design skills!

The positive edge sensitive flip-flop is designed by using two latches in cascade. The
data input D is given as input to the negative level sensitive D latch, and an output
of the negative level sensitive D latch acts as input to the positive level sensitive D
latch.
The output of the positive level sensitive D latch acts as a flip-flop output.

The negative edge sensitive D flip-flop is designed by using two latches in cascade.
The data input D is given as input to the positive level sensitive D latch, and an output
of the positive level sensitive D latch acts as input to the negative level sensitive D
latch.
The output of the negative level sensitive D latch acts as a flip-flop output.
