Here is a super fast tutorial with some tips on how to get going with custom clothing in metatailor!
to cut apart mesh:
select it, copy paste then press H to hide one
press tab to go into edit mode
set selection to faces
highlight sections you want to delete,
get rid
make sure to get rid of any "blocks" in the meshes such as neck , trouser or arm "caps" ( basiclly an open mesh to dress...)
