If you are a Veteran, there are some amazing benefits to buying a home with an eligible VA Loan. So how do you know if you qualify? Where do you start?
I have asked an expert to give just a few basic tips for my veteran sisters and brother to help get you on the road to buying your first home using your VA approved loan.
1. Are you eligible? DD214?
2. Credit – 580
3. Two years of steady employment
4. Zero down
5. No PMI
6. Credit/Income ratio
It’s important to have a Realtor who understands the VA and the process. VA will not accept just any home. There are guidelines each home will have to qualify for when you’re getting a VA loan. The VA appraiser will have specific criteria and the home must be in livable condition for VA to qualify and finance the loan.
Making an offer on a house that may not get VA approved can be a costly and disheartening mistake. With over 14 years of experience in Real Estate, I continue to help my fellow veterans buy and sell homes in the Phoenix AZ area.
