Esther Bigeou~ St. Louis Blues
Recorded around 1921 to 1923.
Ms. Bigeou was from Louisiana and I think she gave this old standard a unique sound. Although this was not yet a standard when she sang/recorded it. As far s I know Esther recorded this before Bessie Smith recorded it. (although I adore Bessie -as we all do!)

Keep in mind this tune is from a 78 RPM disc and maybe someone attempted to "remaster" or "clean up" the sound. Not sure. Maybe not. But either way- this is a great piece of American musical history. Thank you so much for listening.
