The legendary Abyssinians were founded in the sixties and includes a member of "Carlton and The Shoes," who had a huge hit with “Love Me Forever” in 1968. Founded in Jamaica, they are famous for their smooth harmonies and promotion of Rastafari. Here we see them take the main stage at WMNF Heat Wave 2001, the annual music extravaganza held in Ybor City Tampa. Another video from this performance can be seen elsewhere in this gallery.
This video was aired as part of "Video Cafe No. 38" community access television show in Oct 2002.
Bright House Community Access was channel 96 out of Clearwater Florida and reached about 250,000 homes. Thanks to Access staff Amy Van Dell, Dave Biellen, Jeremiah Johnson, Mike Preusch and Rich Whitaker. Public Access was killed by the Pinellas County Commissioners in 2007, supposedly to satisfy budget cuts.
