The Holocaust (Extended) by Survivor : Aron's Story (The Graphic Novel)
http://SurvivorAronsStory.com In the summer of 1941, the Romanian Army and elements of the German Army conducted the siege of Odessa, Ukraine as part of the WWII Soviet Invasion. The Romanian Army entered Odessa on October 15th and about a week later, the Odessa Massacre took place, in which approximately 25,000 people, mostly Jews, were killed within a matter of days. By the 26th of October, All Jews of Odessa were ordered to report to specific locations for processing, with many more being killed. The remaining Jews were later packed onto cattle car trains and taken outside the city, forced to walk through the snowy steppe to various concentration and death camps. Upon arrival to the camps, the Romanian army remained in charge and recruited locals to serve as police (polizei) to control the Jewish population as well as local Ukrainian villagers. In this video, Aron describes his experiences at the forced labor camps, the horror that local collaborators inflicted, along with artwork from the book, "Survivor : Aron's Story”.
