This turned out to be a vlog of sorts about our trip to Iran, to the descendants of the 20th-century Dagestani muhajirs, who, fleeing Soviet persecution, migrated to northern Iran's Golestan province, where Turkmens live. They united and guided the disparate Turkmen tribes onto the path of Islam, founded numerous educational centers, madrassas, and mosques, and also built the village of Gulidag, inviting a family from each tribe.
They are from the village of Nizhniye Mulebki. They are brothers, Sheikhs Abdulkadir and Ibrahim, and their relative, Sheikh Abdulwagab, prominent religious and public figures of Iran, Sunnis known in the Middle East, Near East, and Central Asia. Their descendants tell stories of their ancestors, whose students include all the Sunni scholars of Golestan Province, a province with a population of 2 million, stretching from the southern shores of the Caspian Sea to Khorasan. It also borders Afghanistan.
