Community Microgrids and Sustainable Energy Program - Case Study
After the 2019-2020 bushfire season, towns across Gippsland and North-East Victoria were left disconnected from the electricity grid. In response, a study explored how energy-storage infrastructure can help communities to better withstand future disruptions.
The resulting Community Microgrid and Sustainable Energy Program facilitated the installation of Selectronic SP PRO Battery Inverters, solar, batteries, generators and other distributed energy resources across essential service buildings, commercial and industrial facilities, and households. This initiative strengthens local energy independence and reliability for rural communities.
These installations were supported by the Victorian Government through the Community Microgrids and Sustainable Energy Program.
