So my first attempt, this is out of a gold colored craft paper turned out not too bad but couldn't go much further than this as far as getting the detail together. Second, attempt a little thinner paper. It's a graphite paper. By the time I get close to the final folds it started to fall apart, got too soft wouldn't hold its creases anymore, and that was the end of that. Next, I tried making some tissue foil. In this case, it was made from a heavy duty foil.
Don't make it out of a heavy duty foil, make it out of a nice light grade foil, the stronger the better. As you can see by the time I got to a lot of the reverse folds it all started to crack, and that was the end of that. So finally, made some nice thin tissue foil, and ended up with this. It turned out pretty good, but only had a piece of foil 12 inches wide
this is what it was made out of. So, it's s till a pretty small scorpion. If I can find some bigger pieces of thin tin foil I'll try to make a bigger one.
