Self Hate, Slave play, and The Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show
In Jerrod Carmichael's newest controversial show, the comedian shares that he likes to pretend that he is a slave in a relationship with a slave master's son. This may have been a joke, but it's a joke being made by someone who seemingly has a long history of predominately dating white partners. As someone who's mostly dated outside of their race, I felt like discussing the line between race play and interracial dating.
