In the first part of our discussion about recording an orchestra using VSTs, we touched on general issues, discussed where to start, and how to approach this challenging but interesting subject for beginners. Today, we'll discuss the topic of VST orchestras in more detail. We'll discuss the importance of proper instrument placement, even though they're virtual; the different ways to control expressiveness, apply compression and reverb; how many drums are enough to create a wall of sound; and the importance of realism. But the most important thing to highlight and bring to the forefront of this video is that to master orchestration and mixing, you need to listen to a lot of orchestral recordings. All the details are in our new tutorial!
