Podium: ‹Constructive Futures›
in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut Architektur FHNW

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung ‹Beton› im S AM Schweizerisches Architekturmuseum und des übergeordneten Entwurfsthemas ‹Constructive Futures – Beyond Concrete› am Institut Architektur findet am Campus der FHNW in Muttenz eine Podiumsdiskussion statt, an der sich Fachpersonen aus Architektur und der Bauindustrie über die Zukunft des Betons austauschen. Dabei geht es um eine neue konstruktiv motivierte Entwurfskultur, die neue Wege im Umgang mit Baumaterialien aufzeigt, aber auch um die Verantwortung, die die Bauindustrie für die Verursachung der Klimakrise trägt, und um die Entwicklung neuer Technologien für Beton, die weniger Ressourcen verbrauchen, weniger Kohlendioxid ausstossen und sogar einen Teil der Treibhausgase in der Atmosphäre einfangen.
Simon Wiedemann (Head of Solutions & Products bei Holcim) und Andrea Klinge (von ZRS Architekten Ingenieure, Berlin, und neue Professorin für zirkuläres Bauen an der FHNW) leiten den Anlass jeweils mit einem Inputreferat ein und diskutieren anschliessend zusammen mit zwei Studierenden und einer Assistentin am Institut Architektur auf dem Podium, moderiert von Andreas Ruby, dem Direktor des S AM.

Panel Discussion 'Constructive Futures'

In line with the exhibition 'Beton' at the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum and the overarching design theme 'Constructive Futures – Beyond Concrete' at the Institute of Architecture, the FHNW campus in Muttenz will host a panel discussion in which experts from architecture and the construction industry will consider the future of concrete. The discussion will focus on topics such as the emergence of a new design culture, motivated by questions of construction and demonstrating new ways of dealing with building materials; the responsibility that the construction industry bears for causing the climate crisis; and the development of new technologies for concrete that consume fewer resources, emit less carbon dioxide, and even capture some of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Simon Wiedemann (Head of Solutions & Products at Holcim) and Andrea Klinge (of ZRS Architekten Ingenieure, Berlin, and newly appointed professor of circular construction at the FHNW) will kick off the event with input presentations, which will be followed by a panel discussion with two students and an assistant at the Institute of Architecture moderated by Andreas Ruby, Director of the S AM.
