Los Angeles County Sheriff off duty in plain clothes on way home, hears a call about a 10-55 vehicle (drunk driver) and spots it at the intersection of Panorama and E Joshua Rd. He follows the vehicle until it starts to weave back and fourth and cross the centerline. He at that point tries to pull the vehicle over and it evades him. With the closes backup in Malibu (Paleto) he is on his own. The vehicle 10-50's on Route 68 as he approaches the vehicle there is no driver. With no logical explanation he calls in Code 4 and other unit in route slow his run down. He calls for a 10-52 (tow truck) and when the backup arrives he waves them on. The vehicle is towed and no one ever claimed the vehicle. It was eventually sold at a sheriff's sale 6 months later. Where did the driver go?
