A Holistic Approach to Women's Health with Op. Dr. Ayşe Duman
Before we move on to the question of whether you menstruate while pregnant, let's briefly review what happens during pregnancy and why you didn't menstruate. The uterine lining thickens to accommodate the fertilized egg, allowing it to implant and remain there. During menstruation, the uterine lining thickens and is shed in preparation for pregnancy. But once pregnancy occurs, the fertilized egg gradually begins to embed itself within the thickened endometrium. The subsequent process and hormonal balance work to maintain the uterine lining and protect the implanted embryo. In other words, the endometrium, which is shed with menstruation, is prevented from shedding. In other words, you don't menstruate while pregnant. Sometimes women bleed despite being pregnant. This can be due to a variety of reasons, including spotting, bleeding in the early stages, and bleeding in the early stages. There may be small, small amounts of bleeding due to openings in the tiny capillaries as the embryo implants in the endometrium, or there may be small shedding of the thickened endometrium due to hormonal changes, but there is never a period like a normal menstrual period.
