Raspberry Pi Heating Controller - Part 5 - Controlling from Software
Now that I've got the control panel wired up, I'll connect it to the Raspberry Pi's Pi Face 2 board.. that'll let me write some simple Python to control the relay (which simulates a button press on the panel) and another script to read the system state.
With these basics in place, the rest of the control software can be written to do scheduling, bring in temperature readings, and allow the system to be controlled remotely.
