I have ALWAYS (from the beginning) thought that Sissel was a visionary and a dreamer, ACUTELY aware of an empty space within herself, and actively searching for the "elusive treasure" (God) that would fulfill that emptiness and ache. I believe that her intense "NEED to sing" is related to this. She has stated on numerous occasions that - while she is on-stage singing - she is transported into another, beautiful world !!
In addition, she is an "incurable dreamer and romantic" (so SHE states), to whom the concept of "romantic love" is VERY important. I am not so sure that she has ever found the reality of THAT love in HER life that will fulfill her dreams and hopes. After her divorce, she had a 2 year relationship that also ended very painfully in 2008.
MANY of her songs - definitely including THIS one - speak of that longing and search for "the perfect one who will fulfill your dream for completeness and happiness" !!
