100-120 years ago, a family in Kütahya had a young, handsome son with a pure heart. A middle-class family also had a beautiful, tall, long-haired daughter, her friends called her “Deli-Düve” (mad heifer). Here the young handsome young man fell in love with the “Deli-Düve”. At that time, the name of the Deli-Düve was legendary. The young, Deli-Düve asks his family, but they do not allow the marriage. The girl and the young man meet in secret. After hearing this, the girl's family agrees and they marry the girl to the young man. However, the happiness of the young people does not last long, the young men of the time who see the beauty of this girl are both jealous of the husband of the girl who rejects them and hold a grudge against her...
A lot of time passes, this young and beautiful bride is threatened by a few young men. The young men report with an intermediary woman, "You will break up with your husband, otherwise we will take you to the mountain, we will blind your husband".
At first, Deli-Düve did not care and hides it from her husband, and because she loves him, she does not consent to any harm and sends the following news to the young men. “Please, leave my husband alone. Do not touch him, I will do whatever you want, ”says she.
Hearing this, the boys decide to kidnap the Deli-Düve. The intermediary said to the woman, “We will tell him what we want from him at the fountain. Let's get there," they say. Hearing this, the young bride goes to the fountain, as she is in a state of panic.
When the young men who had set a trap by the fountain before, saw the woman coming running, they appeared in front of her and kidnapped her by throwing her on the horse they had prepared, while the young bride screams, her husband Asalı, who heard her voice, rushes to her aid.
Seeing her husband coming, the young men begin to stand by. At the end of the bloody fight between them, a young man named Vehbi, son of Asalı, dies with knife blows.
The boys take the Deli-Düve to the mountain and achieve their goals. On the other hand, the parents of the young man who saw their son lying in blood, plucked out their hair and heads.
The laments sung upon hearing of this event circulated from one language to another and became a folk song as it is sung today.

Bundan 100-120 yıl önce Kütahya'da bir ailenin genç yakışıklı, sözü dinlenir, temiz kalpli bir oğulları varmış. Orta halli bir ailenin de güzel, boylu poslu uzun saçlı bir kızları varmış. Kız biraz hoppa olduğu, ele, avuca sığmadığı için arkadaşları ona "deli düve" ismini vermişlerdi.İşte genç yakışıklı delikanlı deli düveye aşık olmuş. O zamanlar deli düve adı dillere destandır. Genç, deli düveyi ailesinden ister, fakat kızı vermezler. Kızla genç gizli gizli buluşurlar. Bunu duyan kızın ailesi razı olur ve kızla genci evlendirirler. Fakat gençlerin saadetleri uzun sürmez, bu kızın güzelliğini duyan gören zamanın delikanlıları kendilerini reddeden kızın kocasını hem kıskanır hem de ona kin bağlarlar.
Deli Düve’de gözü olan diğer delikanlılar bu olayı içlerine sindiremezler. Deli Düve’yi Asalı’nın elinden alsak diye planlar kurmaya başlarlar ve planlarını hazırlarlar. Kendilerini reddeden kızın kocasını hem kıskanır, hem de ona kin bağlarla
Aradan bir hayli zaman geçer, bu genç ve güzel gelin birkaç delikanlı tarafından tehdit edilmeye başlar. Delikanlılar, “kocandan ayrılacaksın, yoksa seni dağa kaldırırız, kocanın da gözlerini kör ederiz” diye aracı bir kadın ile haber salarlar. Deli Düve önceleri aldırmaz ve kocasından saklar, onu sevdiği için de bir türlü kötülük etmelerine razı olmaz ve delikanlılara şöyle haber yollar. “Ne olur, kocamı rahat bırakın. Ona dokunmayın, ne isterseniz yapayım” der.
Bunu haber alan delikanlılar Deli Düve’yi kaçırmaya karar verirler. Aracı kadına “biz ondan istediğimizi çeşme başında söyleyeceğiz. Oraya kadar gelsin” derler. Bunu duyan genç gelin meraktan çatlayacak bir duruma geldiğinden çeşme başına gider.
Daha önceden çeşme başında tuzak kuran delikanlılar kadının koşarak geldiğini görünce önüne çıkar ve hazırladıkları atın üzerine atarak kaçırırlarken genç gelin çığlık atar, sesi duyan kocası Asalı yardımına koşar. Kocasının geldiğini gören delikanlılar hazır vaziyette beklemeye başlarlar. Aralarındaki kanlı döğüş sonunda Asalı oğlu Vehbi isimli delikanlı bıçak darbeleri ile ölür.
Delikanlılar Deli Düve’yi dağa kaldırırlar ve de emellerine ulaşırlar. Öte yandan oğullarının kanlar içinde yattığını gören gencin ana ve babası saçlarını, başlarını yolarlar.
Bu olayın duyulması üzerine yakılan ağıtlar dilden dile dolaşarak günümüzde söylendiği şekilde türkü haline gelir.
