Hamilton hospital workers fight back against privatization!
Hundreds of hospital staff rallied at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton against the Ford government’s plan to contract out hospital services to private, for-profit clinics.
Workers presented a petition signed by 2,500 hospital staff to their CEO, Elizabeth Buller, calling on her to take a stand against the government's plan to privatize hospital services.
The rally at St. Joseph's Healthcare was one of a series of actions taking place across Ontario by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO), the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare and Unifor.
