Personal finance is personal, they tell us, so instead of focusing on average consumer price index for urban workers, we need to focus on our personal inflation rate and real strategies to deal with it. In this video, I’m going to look at “The Personal Side of Inflation.”
In the video I share some tools to calculate your own personal inflation rate, including a spreadsheet I downloaded from Morningstar, and one complicated approach and one simple approach I created with my own budget spreadsheet.
Thanks to a suggestion from David Folts @jedi1466, I also include a personal look at how manage my personal inflation rate, one far better than the suggestion to "Just eat lentils!" from a Bloomberg op-ed.
