Sound quality test of Logic Pro vs Pro Tools
Test: Bouncing raw audio from Logic Pro and Pro Tools and comparing the two bounces. I flipped the phase on one to see if the two bounces were completely identical and therefore no difference in sound quality.
Results: The Logic bounce played back 3dB louder than the Pro Tools bounce. After adjusting the fader, I flipped the phase 180° and they completely nullified, indicating that there is absolutely no difference between the playback sound quality of each daw.
Notes: The stems were recorded in Pro Tools at 48kHz 24-bit.
Implications: Use whatever DAW you like better for its features. Your creative process is the only thing that affects the sound quality of mixes in each DAW.
