ML Pack 8 Demo (part 1): physically-modeled bowed strings for SwarPlug
We are very excited to unveil a new, major voices set of Bowed Strings Instruments for SwarPlug, all physically-modeled*. This is the result of a collaboration with Naada Library, producers of high-quality virtual instruments.
This first release of the ML Pack includes 5 beautiful solo voices: 2 Sarangis, 2 Violins and 1 Viola, but more is coming! Over the next weeks, we'll be enhancing the pack with a Cello, a Double Bass, the ability to turn these solo instruments into a hyper realistic strings ensemble, additional articulations, additional MIDI clips and much more!

Physical modeling, unlike sampling, employs mathematical algorithms to create a virtual version of an acoustic instrument. In this specific case, it models the way a string is being excited by a bow, how that vibration moves back and forth the string, bouncing partly across the bridge and the finger. Then the resulting force on the bridge is processed through an Impulse Response sample - that is the recorded reverberation of the body of the instrument - to reconstruct the original sound.
