Music video for the title track of the album "A Strange Thing To Say" by SOPOR AETERNUS & The Ensemble Of Shadows, which is the 1st part of the trilogy "A TRIPTYCHON OF GHOSTS".
It was filmed (or rather "DV-ed") in the lovely ghost town of Bannack/MT (naturally by kind permission of the Montana FWP authority) and on the Carousel Of Missoula/MT (also by kind permission) ... - plus a handful of other places (all in the cold March of 2009).
Raven Digitalis was willingly abused as the human tripod through-out the shooting of this little gem.
Everything else was done by the fabulous AVC herself.
Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows es un proyecto de Darkwave, que ha conseguido gran prestigio en círculos especializados,el cual fue fundado y es liderado por Anna-Varney Cantodea. El nombre "Varney" fue integrado basándose en una novela de vampiros llamada "Varney el vampiro, o el festín de sangre" de 1847 (Varney the Vampire or the Feast of Blood) esto es confirmado por una canción titulada "The Feast of Blood" que incluye en un par de álbumes.
Es poco lo que se sabe acerca de Anna-Varney Cantodea, salvo que ha creado un personaje andrógino oscuro y rodeado de misterio, muy acorde con la música del grupo. Anna-Varney se niega a actuar en directo "para seres humanos" y ni siquiera se conoce su nombre real. En las fotos suele aparecer fuertemente maquillado o con máscaras. No realiza entrevistas en persona y sólo las concede si éstas se hacen en condiciones que garanticen su anonimato.
