Being-in-the-world is a central concept in existentialism and phenomenology, specifically in the work of Martin Heidegger. It describes the fundamental way that humans exist and interact with the world around them. This concept emphasizes the inseparability of the individual and their environment, rejecting the traditional mind-body dualism of philosophers such as René Descartes.
