Ultra-violet Macro - Modifying a UV-Speedlight
Warning: Make sure to use a new speedlight, that has not been charged up yet.
Do not use a speedlight that has been in use within the last 6 weeks. This serves your personal safety as flash capacitors can store energy for over weeks even when not in use. Working on a flash with rest charge can result in serious injury or death.
In this video I show you how to modify a speedlight to emit an unfiltered spectrum of light and how to attach a UV vilter to it for UV flourescence photography. I used a "Schott UG-11
" filter for this project; alternative high quality filters are "Hoya U-340" / "Hoya U-360" and "Baader U Venus" filters.
