Vitesse failed to reward themselves against PSV on Saturday evening. The Arnhem side had a number of good opportunities to score but were unable to convert them. PSV, however, did so through Guus Til, who scored the only goal of the match. In the closing stages, Kjell Scherpen, who had earlier saved a penalty, received a red card following a foul on Yorbe Vertessen.
