Henry Geehl: Valse légère
Phillip Sear plays a sophisticated 1918 'light waltz' by Henry Geehl (1881–1961).

Geehl taught at Trinity College of Music from 1919, and composed concertos, a symphony as well as lighter pieces. He was also well-known as an arranger (for example, he made a solo piano arrangement of Franck's 'Variations symphoniques'. Geehl also wrote some music for the 1946 Paganini biopic 'The Magic Bow', starring Stewart Granger. His popular song 'For You Alone' was the first (1910) English-language item recorded by Caruso.
