I follow some ukulele groups on Facebook, and in the last week or so, there have been a couple of ukulele items that have come to my attention.
In the Midwest United States, we have a store called Menards, which is a large hardware store that goes beyond hardware; there are even some groceries. Think about it…it’s an amazing idea…you go to the hardware store and also need milk—which you can get in one stop. One of the groups pointed out that Menards was selling a $12.99 ukulele (Hola), so I ordered one, which was just over $14 with Minnesota sales tax. The first part of the video is the initial tuning of that instrument and a small amount of playing—I’ll do a full review later.
The other item was a plush “decor” item…a Yeti playing a guitar…which is really a pink ukulele…at Target. They were $5, so I found a local Target that had them in stock (using the app) and bought two…one for home, and one for school.
I don’t know how many videos I’ll release before Christmas this year…I’m just getting back into the swing of reviews, tutorials, and play alongs. So if I don’t post again before Christmas, I just wanted to wish anyone that celebrates Christmas—as I do—a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And if I do post more before Christmas, that is fine, too!
