Cinema FV-5 on the OnePlus One
Brief review about the Cinema FV-5 app on the OnePlus One.
With regards to the 4K capability, this is the response from the guys of Cinema FV-5:
"Currently 4K recording is not possible under the current version of Android (4.4 KitKat), even if the phone actually supports this, as this is a limitation of the operating system. Under Android 4.4, manufacturers implement 4K in a proprietary way, and hence third party applications cannot use this feature. Some Android 5.0 Lollipop device will get this feature, and we are working to make the app compatible with them as soon as possible. If your phone is actually capable of 4K recording, Cinema FV-5 may soon see that resolution when running under Lollipop, but it will depend on the software limitations and the actual implementation.
This is the reason no app can record 4K video on the One besides the stock app, but we are definitely working the issue.
Regarding the sharpness, actually some applications add additional sharpness, but this is only a software trick, the video is not actually sharper, but they sharpen it artifically in digital. Cinema FV-5 does not do this by default, as this prevents you to do some adjustments in post-processing. However, you can change the sharpness settings on Settings / Video tab / Set image parameters. You can adjust sharpness there, but also the contrast and saturation, which you cannot change in any other app."
