Wonderland: Meet the Production
Here is an inside look to a few production elements for Gallim Dance's premiere at the Joyce Theater! Skidmore College generously donated several rolls of Marley for the World Premiere of Wonderland. Each one weighed at least 250 pounds!
Before it could be painted, it needed to be scrubbed, then a primer was applied. After that it got two coats of green paint, and was left to dry overnight.
The green marley was originally designed by Jon Bausor for Howl, a commission for Ballet Bern, with original lighting design by Jon Clark.
All of Gallim pitched in to get the project done. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped along the way!
