Digital photography has reinvented the world of photography. Suddenly, you can press the shutter button as often as you want without additional costs, and you do. After all, quality is also about quantity. You take many photos of a subject and later choose the best one.
Furthermore, you are no longer dependent on a photo lab and, with a computer and the appropriate software, you have a digital darkroom for image editing at home. This has completely changed the work of photographers. Software for archiving and editing digital photos is available from many providers, both paid and free (freeware). One software that offers both is Picasa from Google. The license is free. Picasa provides the perfect photo archive and, in addition, digital photo editing, right up to outputting photos to various media. You'll quickly come to appreciate this software. It's relatively easy to use and offers many useful functions for both amateurs and professionals. The archive, in particular, is nearly perfect.
Downloading and Installing Picasa
Picasa is available in versions for Windows and Apple, which is very convenient for photographers who work on both systems. You have the same working environment on both operating systems. Furthermore, Picasa installs very quickly on both systems.
Either search for the latest version via Google or simply follow this link:
http://www.google.com/intl/de/picasa/ You will be automatically directed to the correct version (Windows or Apple) and language.
Simply click the "Download Picasa" button, and you can install Picasa shortly.
