The video discusses the new relationships with the captured object - the referent - established by modernist photographers.

The exhibition Moderna para Sempre -- Fotografia Modernista Brasileira na Coleção Itaú, which is coming to Itaú Cultural in São Paulo (SP) for the first time, was designed to give national visibility to the photographic aspect of Itaú Unibanco's collection of works of art. It will be open to visitors from January 25 to March 9.

Since 2010, the exhibition has been to seven cities - Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Belém and Ribeirão Preto, in Brazil, as well as Asunción, in Paraguay, and Mexico City, in Mexico.

The Itaú Collection has 124 modernist works, highlighting works produced between the 1940s and 1970s, such as those by Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante, created in 1939.

The selection was made by curator and photographer Iatã Cannabrava and includes works by masters such as José Yalenti, José Oiticica Filho, Geraldo de Barros, Marcel Giró, Thomaz Farkas, German Lorca, Ademar Manarini and Paulo Pires. The collection is also an opportunity to offer an educational activity focused on the importance of the modernist movement for Brazilian culture and identity.
