The green dragon Yan Yue Dao is one of the Yan Yue Dao. According to the documents and unearthed cultural relics, Yan Yue Dao began to appear in Song Dynasty. Because of its weight, it was mainly used to practice arm strength rather than weapons in actual combat.
In the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the green dragon Yan Yue Dao is the weapon used by Guan Yu. It is described in the book that the green dragon Yan Yue Dao weighs 82 Jin, also known as Leng Yan saw. Guan Yu used it to kill many generals, so later generations also called the green Dragon Yan Yue Dao. After Guan Yu was killed, the green dragon Yan Yue Dao was taken away by Pan Zhang, the general of the eastern Wu Dynasty. Later, Guan Xing, Guan Yu's son, killed pan Zhang to avenge his father and took back the green dragon Yan Yue Dao. Therefore, Guan Yu and the green dragon Yan Yue Dao are regarded as symbols of each other.
