Team QLD China Mission April 2023
TEQ is leading a delegation of senior tourism industry representatives visiting Shanghai and Guangzhou this week to reconnect with aviation, tourism and media partners and encourage Chinese visitors to return to Queensland.
The delegation includes CEOs and senior representatives from the Queensland Government’s Department Tourism, Innovation and Sport, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Queensland Airports Limited, North Queensland Airports and the Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Tropical North Queensland, whose regions welcomed around 90 per cent of Chinese visitation pre-COVID-19.
China was previously Queensland's number one international market pre-COVID-19 and fuelling international tourism growth. TEQ is rallying a Team Queensland approach to ensure we re-establish this market with the aim to grow beyond pre-COVID-19 visitation.
