Rio Grande Mid Train Helper, Part 1, Silverton Mixed, 10/16/2023
I "Chased and Paced" the Rio Grande lettered, Silverton Mixed with rare, mid train helper. The Durango and Silverton NGRR commemorated the K-28 locomotives 100-years of service during their Fall Photo Special Excursion. Part 1 includes the 7:05 AM (dark) departure from Durango, with locomotives #473 and #476. I capture the sound of the 32nd Street crossing with the sights and sounds from the 36th Street crossing, pacing through the valley and the stop for water at Hermosa. Part 2 includes the Hermosa water stop, Hermosa departure, Shalona Lake crossing, Rockwood and the arrival in Silverton.
