Top XI players who will be missing at Russia 2018:
With many international stars learning their fate this week, here is a starting XI of players set to miss the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia!

Atletico Madrid and Slovenia goalkeeper Jan Oblak is arguably the best goalkeeper set to miss the tournament in Russia, while the Daily Star chose Antonio Valencia at right back after Ecuador failed in their bid to qualify.

Centre back Virgil van Dijk will miss the World Cup following the Netherlands' disappointing qualifying campaign, as will Chile's Gary Medel, who was selected as the second central defender.

David Alaba was chosen at left back as Austria failed to qualify for football's biggest event, while Guinea's Naby Keita and Chile's Arturo Vidal were the two central midfielders selected.

Gareth Bale is at right wing in the set-up after Wales' heartbreak on Tuesday night, while Chile's Alexis Sanchez is behind the striker and Netherlands' Arjen Robben is on the left side of attack.
