Is Chicago Worth Visiting in the Winter?
This February we hopped on an Amtrak train from Portland to Chicago on the Empire Builder route. The idea was to spend 3 nights in the downtown loop area and see as much as possible both on foot and on public transit. We all had a really great time and didn't have to spend much at all. We ate the free breakfast included at the hotel and then at a big earlyish dinner each day so we saved quite a bit on food as well. This isn't the best video and I apologize for that, I just pieced together all the clips I took while we were there and made the best of it. If no one ever watches it that will be fine as it will exist for our memory of the trip!
Roundtrip air PDX-CHI travel: $175 x 2 = $350 (Under 2 is free)
Hotel: $75 x 3 = $225
