This video lecture is about the Direct Mapping Cache. The cache memory is required to balance the speed mismatch between the main memory and the CPU. It holds frequently requested data and instructions so that they are immediately available to the CPU when needed.
Cache Memory Mapping is a technique using which the contents of main memory are brought into the cache memory. A direct-mapped cache is the simplest approach, where each main memory address maps to exactly one cache block. The Direct Mapping Cache Organization has discussed in detail.
Division of Physical Address is explained. It consist of Tag, Line Number and Block Offset. One example is explained to check the condition of Cache Hit or Cache Miss.
