A few weeks ago I was having some really big issues with algae, both BBA and the common surface algae most people get.
My former exmployer recommended I try out some Hygrophila Polysperma to fill out the tank more, as the algae outbreak was due to a low stocking density of plants, causing the algae to take-up all the extra nutrients in the water and substrate.

I would highly recommend this plant for anyone looking for a plant that will grow quickly, and look nice as a mid-background plant.
